The ZA Packet-Broker Folding@home TeamThe incorrect folding of proteins, misfolding, is often associated with many of the diseases we see today - such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, among others.
Folding@home is a distributed computing project that aims simulate challenging protein folding problems in order to better understand protein folding, misfolding and related diseases. While SETI@home (and others) laid the foundations for internet-based public distributed computing projects, I personally would rather donate my idle clock cycles to a project that should benefit humanity - who at this time is plagued by numerous illnesses. With this in mind, I created the ZA Packet-Broker Folding@home team specifically to track my network of computers as they process work-units for the Folding@home project. If you have some idle clock cycles (and bandwidth) that you wouldn't mind donating to a good cause, then sign up your own team today or support one of the existing teams. |
